ChargeCar: one app for every charging point
The backend for a mobile platform that brings electric charging providers together into a single experience.

Anyone who drives electric knows the problem: charging means a thousand different apps, one per provider, each with its own account and its own payment. Motors Club, a dealership group with an eye on automotive innovation, wanted to close that chaos inside a single app. Together with Antreem we built the backend that makes it possible.
The system brings the different providers together behind one interface: you find the charging points nearby, pay in one place, and use advanced features like plug and charge, which starts the session without touching anything. No more jumping from one app to another: electric mobility goes back to being as simple as it should have been.
Our work concentrated on the backend architecture. The Hubject APIs act as an abstraction layer for handling the different providers under a single logic. We wrote geographic clustering algorithms to keep the map of charging points fluid and light in the mobile app, an automatic invoicing system integrated with Aruba's services, unified cross-provider payments, and a distributed cache for monitoring charging point status in real time. Scalable REST APIs for concurrent users, and an automated pipeline for synchronising provider data.
